Guidelines updated 5 January 2021

Due to the National Lockdown the Clubhouse, Site and Water will be closed until further notice.

The National Lockdown Guidance requires that outdoor sports venues, including tennis courts, golf courses and swimming pools, must close.

We will continue to monitor the guidance released by the government and RYA and inform you of how this impacts the Club.

Anglian Water have closed the lake to all fishing and watersport activity until further notice.

We have received the following from Anglian Water:

'Dear Sailing Club,

While the guidance published at the time of writing does not specifically mention sailing or fishing activity our interpretation of the guidance is that these activities would be classed as recreation and leisure, would require the participant to be away from their home for a long period and would potentially encourage travel outside of the participants local area. We have therefore taken the uncomfortable decision to suspend water based activities for the duration of this current period of lockdown.

I know how unpopular this position is with you and your members and as ever the guidance and interpretation for this period of lockdown is evolving rapidly. In that respect I can assure you that we are constantly reviewing developments and will act on any substantial changes to the guidance or clarification in the detail.

We remain committed to ensuring that we adhere to the law and the spirit of this period of lockdown and thank you for continuing to promote and respect the rules and conditions in place throughout this ongoing situation.

Jake Williams'

We will endeavour to keep you updated regarding access to the site.
