VHF Course

Delegates will be sent the RYA VHF handbook in advance and will be required to spend ~2hrs studying the booklet before attending. With the book will be pre-course questions for you to complete and bring to the course.
Saturday is 9.00-5.00 (training). Sunday is 9.00-11.00 (practice and assessment).
Minimum age: 16
Content: Basics of radio operation, frequencies, distress, emergency and medical assistance procedures, making ship to shore radio-telephone calls, Digital Selective Calling, Global Maritime Distress Safety System.
Certificate issuing criteria: To be able to operate the radio and know the procedures required to use the radio.
