2000 Dinghy
Made by Laser until 2013 and now sold by RS Sailing, the 2000 dinghy is easy to sail, low maintenance and offers great sailing for novices and families through to expert racers alike. Compared to similar dinghies with Asymmetric Spinnakers, the 2000 is relatively stable and offers superb performance whilst staying manageable for less experienced sailors. There are over 40 2000 dinghies at Rutland Sailing Club sailed by a wide range of ages and abilities for training, pleasure or competition. The Rutland 2000 Fleet offers fast family fun for everyone through a variety of activities through the year:
- Shakedown days. Helping you to get back on the water after the winter.
- Coaching & Training Days. Meeting other 2000 owners for off and on-water coaching to help improve knowledge, confidence and skills.
- Focus Days. Sailing as a group, joining in Club Racing for those that want to, with a 2000 Class start if there are sufficient boats participating. An ideal way to get started.
- Open Events. Rutland hosts the RS Sprints which are open to the 2000 class as well as a number of Class Association and Club events.
